Developer Job Details

Our projects are based around the process of presenting complex information in an interactive, visually interesting and clear manner.

We build everything using web technologies and consider visual aesthetics and user experience as deeply as the technical implementation.

At this point we are growing the team on site in our Edinburgh office, so the roles aren't suited to those looking for fully remote working.

Technical Background

Rather than looking for people with experience in the latest libraries, we are more interested good developers that are motivated to learn.
Our primary stack includes:

  • Typescript, React, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL
  • We also work heavily with WebGL and GLSL

General Requirements and Bonus Skills

Good interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential, as you would be expected to challenge and inspire others in the team, share experience and help define the future direction of the products.
Bonus skills might include:

  • Native mobile app development
  • Contributions to the open-source community
  • Presented at conferences related to web technologies

Previous examples of work such as production sites, personal projects, open-source contributions, or video demos are beneficial to show.

About KPV LAB Edinburgh

Formed in late 2017, KPV LAB Edinburgh is part of the international KPV Group, which has its headquarters in Munich, Germany.

The Edinburgh team (currently 15 people) is a software studio building next-generation platforms and experiences to explore and visualise knowledge and information.

Our products have a particular focus on managing data in time and space and encompass the fields of history, literature, science, music and business intelligence.

Our drive is to create new ways to explore and interact with knowledge that reveal meaningful insights and experiences.
